Pros - Simple to install.
Pro - Attached duct is long enough to reach practically any window.
Pro - Astatically pleasing.
Pro - Less expensive than other 10K BTU units.
Cons - No way to turn off the LDC screen. Bright blue screen made the bedroom quite bright.
Con - Louder than comparable model. Compressor start/stop was somewhat `jolting'.
Con - Port to the outside did not include any sort of `rain guard' as is available by comparable units or `bug guard' as is provided by comparable units.
Con - Box did not contain any sort of foam to `fill in the gaps' left by the installation of the unit.
Con - `No need to empty any water' did not hold true. Unit filled in less than 1 hour. (over and over!) Unit was not located in a `humid' environment... in fact, we are in the dry part of our summer. Unit was in a room much smaller than the max size. Called for service, but ended up sitting around all day for their representative to arrive only to find out they don't have an office in my area. Haier wanted me to take another day of leave to wait for someone else. Never received follow-up calls pre request. Returned the unit. New unit from other manufacturer has been running for 4 days solid without any need to empty and is MUCH quieter.
Con - ONLY way to manually drain the unit is to have a hose connected the output port at the far bottom of the unit! (I don't have a drain in my bedroom). I had to literally lift the unit and have someone pull the stopper to drain the unit. I tried my best and put the unit on a box so I could more easily drain the unit. But man... what a pain.
Bottom line - I would pass. You get what you pay for.
